1. On my blog, I am hosting a giveaway for A Southern Place
by Elaine Drennon Little (WiDo Publishing). Elaine has written a
Southern saga set in the 1950s, revolving around agriculture, love,
drinking, business, and grief. The characters in this debut novel are
amazing. If you love character-driven novels, enter to win a copy here: http://margodill.com/blog/2013/09/13/a-southern-place-by-elaine-drennon-little/
2.
Also on my blog, I was lucky enough to read, review, and offer a
giveaway for the anthology full of true essays (memoir-type) about women
in religions around the world titled: Beyond Belief: The Secret Lives of Women in Extreme Religion. This would be a GREAT book club pick. Check it out and enter to win here: http://margodill.com/blog/2013/09/12/beyond-belief/
3. On
WOW! Women On Writing's blog, The Muffin, I interviewed YA debut author,
Sara Polsky, on her contemporary YA novel about a teenager whose mother
is bipolar, and the teen is trying to live her life and discover who
she is. Sara has some interesting things to say about research and
finding an agent. You can also enter to win her book: This is How I Find Her, here: http://muffin.wow-womenonwriting.com/2013/09/sara-polsky-talks-her-debut-ya-novel.html
4.
Finally, STARTING TOMORROW (9/14), my new blog with my critique group,
THE LIT LADIES, will be hosting Shawndra Russell, who has a very
practical book for anyone who wants to get started as a freelance writer
OR who is already freelancing but wants to increase your income. Her
GUEST POST is about inching toward ANY writing goal whether you write
novels, short stories, or articles, and she encourages you to share your
current projects and word counts with us--even if you aren't interested
in her book: HOW TO BECOME A FREELANCE WRITER IN 30 DAYS! Anyway, the
link is: http://www.thelitladies.com/inching-toward-your-writing-goals-with-15-minutes-a-day-by-shawndra-russell/ but it won't be LIVE until 9/14.
